GlobalTension oil fears and #Inflation worries sink markets…
💥 Oil attacks. The US-Iran war escalated #GlobalTension with attacks on oil infrastructure. While prices didn’t move much week-over-week, the trend is shifting with pullbacks are getting shallower suggesting markets starting to price in persistent supply risk.
️🔥 Inflation fears. February PPI accelerated 0.7% M/M higher than forecast and the prior month. It was another hot producer #Inflation reading and before any impact from the Iran war. If higher oil prices persist, producer and consumer #Inflation likely increases as well.
️️📉 Market pessimism. Markets were focused this week on #GlobalTension from the US-Iran war and producer #Inflation. Both disappointed. The S&P 500 ends down almost another -2% for the week.
