Shutdown ends, but market rally stalls…
🟢 Shutdown ends. Enough Democrats crossed party lines to formally end the government shutdown last week. Markets were never deeply worried about the shutdown itself, but removing the threat of it dragging into the holidays definitely cleared some lingering uncertainty.
🧐 To data or not to data? Markets were hoping for a quick return to the normal economic data update cadence, but it appears restarting the pipeline may be a bit patchy. However, we will get the September jobs report next Thursday for a look into #LaborMarkets.
😐 Unsure markets. Markets started the week strong on a surge Monday with the government set to end the shutdown. However, #RateCuts and #AI bubble concerns resurfaced causing the S&P 500 to end the week only slightly higher +0.1%.
