Markets end mixed after #Tariffs trade talks and #BigTech earnings disappoint…
🧐 Oct cut, Dec question. As expected, Fed #RateCuts on Wednesday with a 25 bps cut. However, Powell dampened market sentiment noting a December cut was “far from a foregone conclusion” and “far from it”.
️🥱 Noneventful talks. The US and China met on Thursday to discuss the escalating #Tariffs trade war. While the US got a 1-year pause on rare earth metal export limitations and China saw the fentanyl #Tariffs reduced, it was mostly a nonevent－disappointing markets.
😞 Disappointing week. A disappointing week with Dec #RateCuts in question and uneventful #Tariffs talks. However, it was compounded by #BigTech earnings as hyperscalers continue to spend massively on the #AI buildout. The S&P 500 still ends up 0.7% for the week.
